Two-Year-Old Found Wandering Streets

Some frantic moments overnight for police in Danville when a toddler is found wandering the streets. A passerby saw 2-year-old James Sollee just after 2:30 Tuesday morning on Second Street and called police.

Police canvassed the area and found an open door at a home. They say they found the boy's mother asleep inside the home.

Police say the boy's mother, Donna Vaught, describes her son as "an escape artist."
She says he's gotten out of the home before, during the day.

Vaught also tells 27 NEWSFIRST that she has asked her landlord to change her locks before, but he refused, saying it would violate fire code.

However, she says after this incident, she plans to talk to the building's owner again, and will do everything she can to keep her son safe.

The child is okay and no charges have been filed.
