WAX, Ky. (AP) - It was to be a central Kentucky father and son outing as Billy Joe Clemons of Clarkson in Grayson County took his seven-year-old son, Dawson, for a swim at Nolin Lake.

Clemons and a cousin lost sight of the boy and despite a relatively quick rescue and CPR efforts by Grayson County Deputy Sheriff Gary Troutman, the youngster could not be revived.

Grayson County Deputy Coroner Larry Holeman says a Medical Examiner's report shows the boy drowned and it appeared he was
under water for about five minutes.

Holeman said the Friday drowning near the Wax community was the only one this year at Nolin.

Wax is 64 miles south-southwest of Louisville.
