Ambulance involved in injury crash

The driver of an ambulance went to the hospital after being involved in a crash late Thursday night.

It happened at North Broadway and New Circle Road in Lexington.

Police say the Harrison County ambulance had its emergency equipment activated as it went through a red light inbound North Broadway.

For some reason, the driver of a car didn't see or hear the ambulance and crashed into it.

The driver of the ambulance went to the hospital with neck pain. Everyone else wasn't hurt.

An ambulance from Morgan County crashed in the same intersection with a car in March 2010. A patient in that ambulance suffered critical injuries.
