Kentucky State Police recently served a search warrant at an Edmonson County home where they believe a four-year-old boy was being abused.

49-year-old David Petty is accused of beating his girlfriend's four-year-old son with a stick and locking him in a dog crate at night. A neighbor says Petty and his girlfriend have three younger children together but they found it strange that they rarely saw the older child.

Poilce removed several items from the home including the dog crate which they say appeared was where the boy was often kept. Neighbors describe Petty as strange but couldn't confirm that he might be involved in hurting a child.
