Jurors get look at journal in slaying case

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Jurors in Knoxville got to look inside a
journal that a handwriting expert testified was penned by
torture-slayings suspect Vanessa Coleman.
According to The Knoxville News Sentinel, the journal on Friday
did not directly address the January 2007 slayings of Channon
Christian and Christopher Newsom.
Christian and Newsom were carjacked and then tortured in a case
that resulted in the previous convictions of three men. One was
sentenced to death and the other two received life prison
sentences.
The News Sentinel reported that the journal does have entries
for the days immediately following the couple's disappearance and
described that time as a "great adventure."
Coleman is from Lebanon, Ky.
