Hall's on the River is a central Kentucky icon. The restaurant has been in existence nearly 50 years. It sits along the banks of Howards Creek at the Kentucky River in the Clark County. The owners and staff are well aware of the risks that come with running a business right along the water.

Sunday's heavy rains brought creek waters up some 40 feet. The restaurant's entire lower level is destroyed. Water came up above the outdoor patios and well into the main floor dining areas.

The water has been receding this week and staff members have been busy on clean-up efforts.

The main dining area will be reopened this weekend starting Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
