A field of dreams for a southern Kentucky town?

FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) - A southern Kentucky town will get a full
presentation on a proposal to turn a wheat field near Interstate 65
into a 24-field baseball facility.
Cooperstown (N.Y.) Dreams Park founder Lou Presutti is scheduled
to make his pitch to Simpson County officials Monday at the Roxy
Theatre as part of his effort to build on the site owned by Bowling
Green businessman David Garvin.
The Bowling Green Daily News reports that the training and game
facility would bring in nearly 1,300 kids each week for up to 15
weeks straight in the summer and could see some use in the spring
or fall. Players would be there for an entire week, staying in
dormitories on the property, but family members would stay in area
hotels.
Garvin said the park would use 120 acres of the nearly 1,000
acres of land that he owns at the Ky. 100 exit of I-65.
