Fire destroys a home in Mercer County. It broke out on Herrington Woods, near Burgin.

A woman was inside the home at the time. She wasn't injured.

Fire officials say the woman fell asleep, and left some food cooking on the stove. By the time she woke up, the kitchen was fully involved.
She made it out and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

It took three fire departments to put out the fire. Firefighters had to haul in water from the marina.

Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the location of the home made it difficult to battle the fire.

A home nearby was also damaged in the fire.
