A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
There will be a cooling center available today Aug.23, and Friday August 24, from 10 am until 6 pm for Georgetown residents.
Georgetown City EMA Director Scott Jarvis has said these centers are for individuals that may not have air conditioning and just need a place to go and stay cool during the hottest part of the day.
