Shooting may have stemmed from argument over chicken

One man is in the hospital, and another is in jail, after a shooting.

It happened Monday afternoon in the New Haven Community of Nelson County.

Police say they arrested 47-year-old Douglas Hutchins, a short time after the shooting. He's currently facing several drug-related charges, and police say he's a suspect in the shooting.

The victim, 26-year-old Michael Greenwell, was shot once in the chest and twice in the hand. He was flown to University Hospital in Louisville, where he's said to be in stable condition.

Neighbors say the victim had a long-standing argument with another man, that started over the sale of a chicken. Police are investigating whether that played a role in the shooting.
