Firefighters in Laurel County battled flames at a sawmill Thursday night. The fire started at Chaney Lumber Company around 8:00p.m.

A witness says the fire started as an explosion and flames shot into the sky. Six fire departments were called to the scene. It took four hours and several water tankers to put out the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames to a saw dust collection warehouse. The cause is under investigation.
