A consumer alert this morning a recall is in effect for baby carrots. Some "Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots" are being recalled over concerns they're contaminated with Shigella.

They all have a sell by date up to and including August 16, 2007. They are sold under the "Los Angeles Salad Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots" brand in seven and eight ounce flexible plastic bags.

Symptoms of the infection include fever, nausea and vomiting. These could last up to two weeks.
