General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - A western Kentucky man has pleaded not
guilty to charges that he put his infant son in a kitchen oven. The
child was not harmed.
The Paducah Sun reported Larry Christopher Long of Reidland
entered the plea on Thursday to a first-degree wanton endangerment
The 33-year-old Long told an investigator he doesn't remember
putting the 5-week-old boy in the oven, but does remember changing
the infant's diaper and feeding him at 3 a.m. on March 15.
The boy's mother, 33-year-old Brandy S. Hatton, said she
awakened and heard her son crying, but he wasn't in his crib. She
found him on a cookie sheet in the cold oven, where he had been for
about two hours.
Investigators said Long told them he had smoked marijuana at
work and drank about a fifth of whiskey when he came home.
