Deputies bust outdoor meth lab, arrest one, seeking another

McKEE, Ky. - One man is in jail and another is being sought by Jackson County authorities following an early morning raid on a meth lab in the Whispering Pines development of Tyner in southern Jackson County.

Sheriff Tim Fee says deputies from his department raided the outdoor methamphetamine producing laboratory in the backyard of a residence belonging to 42-year old Lonnie Bowling. The sheriff says his deputies had been on a stake-out of the operation before the raid occured.

Fee says a second man, Rusty Durham, said to be in his late 30s, ran from authorities and was able to escape. A manhunt for Durham was still underway as of midday Sunday. Bowling has been incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail charged with manufacturing and posession of meth, and materials to produce meth.

Fee says his deputies confiscated the "meth cooker," some processed meth and materials to make meth.
