JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (AP) - Hundreds gathered at a church in central Kentucky today to remember the 49 victims killed when a jet crashed in Lexington a year ago.

Today's memorial service was held at a church just a few miles from Bluegrass Airport. That's where the Comair flight crashed shortly after takeoff on August 27.

Wayne Turner - whose brother Larry was killed -- says the past year has given the families time to heal.

A large banner that has served as a makeshift memorial was displayed during the service on the stage at Southland Christian Church just inside Jessamine County on the outskirts of Lexington.

Dozens of church members greeted the parade of cars arriving at
the parking lot for the memorial today.
