Students and teachers return to class after high school senior's death

It's difficult day for classmates and teachers of a high school senior who died in a weekend car crash.

Brittany Cordray, 17, was a senior at Harrison County High School and set to graduate in just a number of days.

Brittany and three of her friends were driving on Colville Road in Bourbon County Friday night when police say Brittany lost control of her car, landing in a pond.

Emergency workers say her three friends were able to get Brittany out of the car, and tried performing CPR but couldn't save her in time.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana.

Brittany's funeral will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Harrison County school officials tell us grief counselors are meeting with students today, but they declined to make a statement about the specifics of today's events.
