Sentencing delayed for woman convicted of murder

Sentencing for a woman found guilty of stabbing another woman to death has been delayed.

A Wayne County judge made that decision Monday morning at the request of Hope White's attorneys.

They claim more DNA testing needs to be done before the case can move forward.

At issue is blood that was found underneath the victim's fingernails. The defense claims a DNA test was never done on that blood.

The judge agreed, and ordered a DNA test within the next 90 days.

A jury convicted White of killing Julie Burchett in 2008.

Burchett's body was found outside a pallet mill in Monticello.
