Father receives ten year sentence for baby's death

COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a northern Kentucky
father to 10 years in prison for death of his infant son.
The Kentucky Inquirer reports Kenton Circuit Judge Martin
Sheehan followed a jury's recommendation when he sentenced Matthew
Pyles on Monday.
Pyles was convicted in April of manslaughter in the death last
year of 7-month-old Gaige Pyles. Prosecutors said the child was
shaken.
The newspaper says Pyles will be eligible for parole in about 16
months.
