Apartments Condemned After Major Water Leak

A major water leak at a Lexington apartment complex forces people out of their homes. It happened overnight at Kirklevington Hills Apartments, just off Tates Creek Road.

Firefighters say a water pipe busted in the ceiling of a third-floor apartment at Kirklevington Hills, and leaked into the apartments on the second and first floors.

People in the first floor apartment were the only ones at home at the time. They say they lost everything.

Officials condemned three apartments. Utilities have also been cut off to the 12 apartments in the building.

Managers at the apartment complex made arrangements for the rest of the people in the building to spend the night in other places.
