Some children in eastern Kentucky got quite a surprise at school Thursday.
Pop singer Miley Cyrus got a very warm welcome at Hazard Independent School in Perry County.
She was there as part of the Blessings In Backpacks program, which she sponsors.
The program provides food for more than 400 children in the Hazard school district, to bring home for the weekend.
"It's one thing to see it on paper, it's another thing to come in and see the thanks from the students that are receiving this that really need the help," Sherry Cornett of Hazard Independent Schools said.
School officials say Cyrus will put more money into the program next year, to help a total of 600 children.
