More people are graduating with degrees
from Kentucky public universities and Western Kentucky University
has shown the greatest improvement in graduation numbers.
The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education's preliminary
count of 2010 graduates showed the number of degree holders
increasd 9.3 percent in the state over the previous year.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that WKU awarded 2,869
bachelor's degrees this year, a 20.4 percent increase over the
previous year. Master's degrees were also increased by 28.7 percent
over last year.
But three schools - University of Kentucky, Morehead State
University and Murray State University - had fewer graduates across
nearly all levels when compared with last year's numbers.
