Investigation Into Virginia Tech Tragedy Continues

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The mother of a victim of the Virginia Tech massacre is urging the governor to fire the university's president and campus police chief.

But Governor Tim Kaine tells The Associated Press the school's officials have suffered enough without losing their jobs.

The mother's outcry comes after a panel investigating the attack released its report suggesting more could have been done to save lives.

The panel says an earlier warning to students, faculty and staff that gunman Seung-Hui Cho (sung-wee joh) killed two people in a dorm might have made a difference for those in Norris Hall, where Cho killed 31 more people, including himself.

But it also concluded that a lockdown of the 131 buildings on campus would not have been feasible.
