Taxi Driver Beaten, Robbed; Similar To Another Case

Lexington Police are looking for three young men, who robbed and beat up a taxi cab driver. The robbery happened on Chant Court, off of Codell Drive just after midnight.

The taxi driver told police the men punched him and stole some cash. The driver wasn't seriously injured.

While police were investigating on Chant Court, they say a pizza delivery driver responded to the same area. It turned out to be a phony phone call. Officers believe the men may have planned to rob the delivery driver as well.

Investigators are looking into the possibility the suspects could be responsible for another crime. On August 14, three teens matching a similar description, punched and robbed a taxi driver, also in the Codell Drive area.
