A motorcyclist is dead following a wreck on KY 801 in Rowan County.
The accident happened just before three o'clock Saturday afternoon in front of the Cave Run Pro Shop. Witnesses say a Dodge pick-up truck was making a left turn into the pro shop parking lot. The motorcyclist was heading in the opposite direction of of the pick-up. They say it appears the motorcyclist thought he was going to hit the pick-up so he slammed on the brakes and tipped the motorcycle. He died on the scene.
The motorcyclist was identified as 42-year-old Frederick Wilson of West Liberty. Wilson was the deputy warden at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex. Wilson's 14-year-old daughter was on the motorcycle with him. She suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from an area hospital. Wilson was not wearing a helmet but his daughter was.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured. No word yet on whether any citations were issued in regards to this accident.
Kentucky State Police are investigating.
