State police say their preliminary statistics show six people were killed in crashes on Kentucky roads during the Memorial Day weekend.
Four of the deaths involved motor vehicles, and police say two of those victims were not wearing seat belts.
Those crashes happened in Clark, Hopkins, Morgan, and Oldham Counties.
One crash involved a motorcycle in Rowan County. Police say the victim in that crash was not wearing a helmet.
Police say a deadly ATV crash happened in Breathitt County. They say alcohol is thought to be a factor in that crash.
State police say their Memorial Day period began at 6 p.m. Friday, and ended at 11:59 p.m. Monday.
Through May 31, state police say their preliminary statistics indicate 253 people have been killed on Kentucky roads in 2010. That's 72 fewer than what was reported in the same time period last year.
