A deadly crash in Morgan County on Monday night kills woman.
It happened in West Liberty on Kentucky 7.
The Morgan County coroner says 76-year old Gerry Blackwell, was returning from her nephew's visitation when she was hit head on by a suspected drunk driver. Her nephew, 42-year-old Frederick Wilson died on Saturday on KY 801 in Rowan County after a motorcycle accident.
"She had been at the funeral home for her nephew which I used to haul on the school bus. I know him really well and she had been to the funeral home and was a couple of miles from the funeral home when it happened," says Drexel Patrick, a fire chief in Morgan County and friend of this family.
Authorities say inside the care with Gerry Blackwell was her brother, 59-year-old Terry Blackwell.
Police say 23-year old Brittany Williams crossed the center line, hitting Blackwell's Chevy Cavalier. Police say drugs are believed to be a contributing factor in the accident and criminal charges are pending.
Blackwell's passenger, 59-year old Terry Blackwell was flown to UK hospital where he's in serious condition.
Williams is also at UK hospital and in fair condition.
