Six counties chosen for election audit

Six Kentucky counties have been chosen at random for an audit regarding the results of last month's primary election.

Attorney General Jack Conway announced Monday that Pulaski, Clinton, Bath, Breckenridge, Johnson, and Hart Counties have been chosen for audits.

The post-election audits are required by state law. The counties are selected in a public drawing that's done within 20 days of the election.

In each county, the audits include checking election forms and interviewing county officials. The selection of the six counties does not imply that irregularities are suspected.
