VERONA, Ky. (AP) - The pilot of a single-engine plane that
crashed in northern Kentucky, killing another man, has been
identified.
The Cincinnati Enquirer says the pilot, who suffered burns over
much of his body, was Rod Tarter.
Meanwhile, a relative says the 22-year-old man who was killed
was attending a rehearsal dinner for his brother's wedding when he
was took a ride in the plane. He was identified as Evan Ryan of
Walton.
Sheriff's officials told The Cincinnati Enquirer that the plane
crashed at about 3:30 p.m. EDT in southern Boone County. The
newspaper says the site is near a private airstrip owned by a
member of the Ryan family, which had gathered at the nearby farm.
Sister of the bride Donna Evans says the groom's brother died,
and the pilot, who was not a family member, was severely injured.
The newspaper reported that Tarter, the pilot, was flown to
University Hospital in Cincinnati for treatment, but his condition
isn't available tonight.
