New numbers released Monday show what Kentucky's high school students are doing after graduation.
Of the 2009 graduates interviewed, more than 50% went on to college in Kentucky, 5.5% went to college out of state. The survey shows another 6.3% chose to go to technical school and 2.4% went into the military.
Only 2.8% of Kentucky high school graduates went straight into the workforce, while another 6.5% did a work/school combination. The remaining were listed as none of the above.
The state's overall high school dropout rate was down in 2009 from previous years, at 2.89%.
