Crash knocks out traffic lights

Some Lexington Police officers spent a good part of their night directing traffic at a downtown intersection.

A car slammed into a pole at Main Street and Midland Avenue just before midnight Wednesday.

The driver was not injured. The pole suffered heavy damage, knocking out the traffic lights at the intersection.

Police were on hand for several hours overnight directing traffic as crews worked to restore power. Everything was fixed by 5am Thursday .
