Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
27 NEWSFIRST has learned new information about a police chase that left one man dead and five others in the hospital. It happened over the weekend in Hardin County.
Kentucky State Police now say the car 24-year old Brandon Lee Jessie was driving during the chase was stolen from an apartment complex in Glasgow. We're told the car belonged to a Bowling Green car dealership. Police also found items stolen from the Barren County apartment complex in the car.
Police say Jessie led them on a nine mile chase through Hardin County, at times driving up to 125 miles per hour. The chase ended when Jessie blew through an intersection and slammed into a Lincoln Town Car. The driver of that car, 36-year-old James Fentress, died.
The impact of that crash sent the Lincoln flying into a van. The driver and three passenger in that van were taken to the hospital. The driver had serious injuries.
Jessie was taken to University Hospital in Louisville and is in critical condition. Police say they will decide what charges to press against Jessie once they're able to interview him.
