Study About UK Campus Safety Released

A new study released Wednesday morning by the University of Kentucky shows female students are feeling safer on campus.

However, UK officials say they still have more work to do.

The study, conducted by UK's Center For Research on Violence Against Women, says 31.7% of women on campus say they feel "very safe."

In 2004, just 16.4% of women surveyed felt very safe.

Also in the survey, the percentage of women reporting being victimized in some form is down about two percent.

UK President Lee Todd says the university still wants to make students and their families feel like UK is a safe place.
