Power company allowed to continue with rate hike request

Two Kentucky electric companies will be allowed to continue with their proposal to hike rates.

On Tuesday the Kentucky Public Service Commission denied Attorney General Jack Conway's request to stop any consideration of rate hikes from Kentucky Utilities and Louisville Gas and Electric.

Conway wanted the rate hike cases dropped because both companies are for sale. KU and LG&E say they're seeking a rate increase to help cover the costs of storm damage.
