Hunt For The Queen Bee Continues

A bee keeper returns to a Lexington neighborhood today to try to contain an estimated 50-thousand bees.

The bees were discovered Wednesday morning when a large tree limb fell on West 2nd Street.

Bee keeper Brent Henderson of Scott County arrived at the scene Wednesday to try to find the queen bee, but ended up getting stung 20 times.

He returned overnight with a make-shift hive, but says he doesn't know if he was able to capture the queen.

The estimated one thousand bees remaining in the tree will be exterminated, and the tree limb will be cut down later today.
