Man injured in police-involved shooting expected to be fine

An investigation is underway after Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies shot a man once in the leg. It happened on Russ Willoughby Road in Jeffersonville.

Police were called to the home for domestic dispute involving 40-year-old Allen Letcher and his wife, 45-year-old Lillie Letcher.

The Montgomery County Sheriff says the deputies were talking with Lillie Letcher at her mother's house about the incident when Allen Letcher pulled in the driver way fired several shots.

The deputies returned fire and we're told Allen Letcher was still shooting even as he was hit.

The Montgomery County Sheriff says Allen Letcher will be charged with five counts of Wanton Endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Sheriff says there is no history of abuse. Letcher does have alcohol-related arrests from the late 90's.
