Showers and storms continue to push into eastern Kentucky. A few strong storms will continue to be possible, but widespread severe weather is not expected.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Bands that are made up of mostly young
people will be competing at the Kentucky State Fair this summer for
free recording time at a local studio.
The Battle of the Bands competition is for bands with at least
half their musicians falling in the 14-to-20 age group.
The competition is part of an effort to draw more young people
to the fair, which runs this year Aug. 19 to 29 in Louisville.
Submissions for the preliminary round are due July 23, which the
finals on Aug. 28. A songwriters contest is also included. For more
