Fire Destroys Central Kentucky Home

Posted: Thu 5:42 PM, Sep 06, 2007

A Scott County family is homeless after a fire at their mobile home.

The flames broke out at around two on Thursday afternoon at the Ponderosa Mobile Home Park, near the Fayette County line.

A security guard at the park says he had to bust down the door of the burning mobile home in order to rescue the sleeping woman inside. There were no injuries reported.

The fire also damaged several nearby homes. One neighbor says she lost nearly everything.

So far, firefighters have not released details about what started the fire.
