The extremely dry conditions across the state of Kentucky have led to a burning ban in one county.

Rockcastle County's Judge Executive, Buzz Carloftis, issued the outdoor burning ban earlier this week because of concerns about the possibility of forest fires in the county.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

County officials say they talked with experts at the forestry department before issuing the burning ban.
