Plant's Opening Restores Hope To KY Community

Video will be available shortly

More than one hundred people lost their jobs when Alcoa closed its plant in Rockcastle County.

Now, there's hope for the community after a major announcement made by Governor Fletcher on Thursday afternoon.

Since the plant closed, the community banded together to find a new business to take it's place and all the hard work finally paid off. It only took three months to find the new buyer to call Mt.Vernon home.

Plasticware officially opened for business last month. Right now, the company employs 80 people but they're hoping to hire more in the near future.
