UK Retirement Site Chosen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The University of Kentucky has announced the location of the retirement community it plans to sponsor.

The community will be called Limestone Crossing by the University of Kentucky and be located just south of the Fayette-Jessamine county line.

The 89-acre project is expected to house about 500 seniors.

UK President Lee Todd says Limestone Crossing will be a natural extension of the university's service and outreach programs. The community is expected to open in early 2012.

Many residents will probably be UK alumni and former faculty, staff members, although people with no ties to the university are welcome as well.
