Roots And Heritage Festival In Full Swing

The Roots and Heritage Festival will be in full swing this weekend in Lexington.

Tonights events include an art exhibit and reception from five until nine tonight at the Carnegie Center on West Second Street.

Friday Night Blues-N-Street will also take place tonight from six until midnight on Stage I at Third Street and Elm Tree Lane.

The street festival will begin tomorrow from noon until 10 pm. The street festival is located by the Lyrics on Elm Tree Lane.

Roots & Heritage Festival events take place throughout the month of September and consist of a wide variety of exciting, culturally enriching activities. The calendar includes art exhibits, literary readings, midnight basketball, a golf tournament, film presentations, children's programming, theater, a comedy night, a health fair and ball, a nationally renowned speaker, and the ever popular two-day street festival.
