State officials have issued a citation to a Lexington water treatment plant for a spill of more than three million gallons of sewage into a Lexington creek.
The spill happened last weekend along the Town Branch of Elkhorn Creek. Dozens of fish died as a result. Officials say an electrical malfunction caused the spill.
The Town Branch Plant must now reimburse the state for all clean-up costs.
