Lexington motorcyclist dies in crash with minivan

LEXINGTON, KY - A 41-year old Lexington man was killed early today in a motorcycle versus minivan accident on Harrodsburg Rd. at New Circle Road.

The victim has been identified as Frank Short. Police say Short was "outbound" on his motorcylce on Harrodsburg Road and crashed into a minivan turning left onto New Circle Road's inner circle.

Police say a witness told them the car had a green light when the mishap occured. Reportedly, Short was thrown from his motorcyle upon impact with the front end of the minivan. He was transported to the UK Hospital Emergency Room where he was declared dead.

Deputy Fayette County Coroner Sarah Davis said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
