With another day with temperatures in the 90s and more to come, organizations like the Community Action Council are gearing up to help people keep cool this summer.
For Kenneth Robertson, it's been hot, and with a medical condition and no air conditioning, it hasn't made it easier.
"I need to be on oxygen," says Robertson. "It gets hot in my room, and it helps me breath better when it's cool."
Robinson now joins dozens who are turning to agencies like the Community Action Council for help.
Through the organization's summer cooling program, air conditioning units are available for those who qualify.
"These are families who meet the low income threshold or have a medical condition," says Charlie Lanter with the Community Action Council.
And so far, the requests are pouring in.
"In the last week, we handed out 41 air conditioners," says Lanter. "That's half what we did all last year."
And they're looking ahead to the next few months and even the next year to see if the organization can meet demand.
"If we had another real hot spell in July or August, I would be worried," says Lanter.
But so far, program managers say they should be able to help all those who need it, to help keep Robertson out of the heat.
"I'd probably have gone in a deep freezer," Robertson says.
