Bands of light snow are working across the region. These can put down some light accumulations on the grass and elevated surfaces.
A busy downtown Lexington street has been shutdown for a celebration.
South Limestone reopened last week after being closed for construction for nearly a year. The city is throwing a block party tonight to mark the occasion. This is the first time in almost a year business owners haven't had to deal with construction along this street. The South Limestone Construction Project stretched from the Avenue of Champions to Vine Street. Crews started working in the area in July of last year. The project widened sidewalks, created bike lanes, and added streetlights, trees and curbside rain gardens. The party started at 4:00 this afternoon and it'll continue until midnight.
City officials say there are a few final details workers will need to address this month, but for the most part the project is complete.
