LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A spokeswoman for the Kentucky Department of Highways says a section of I-64 will be closed until as late as 6 p.m. to remove debris.

Andrea Clifford says that after blasting in the median near mile marker 43 more debris than expected was thrown into the eastbound lane.

Traffic is being diverted to the off-ramp at state highway 395 in Waddy and back onto 64.

The blasting was being done as part of a project to widen a stretch of the interstate.
