Fire that heavily damaged sawmill still smoldering

A fire continues to smolder at a Knox County sawmill, damaged by a massive fire.

The fire broke out Wednesday at Forest Products, Incorporated, outside of Corbin in Knox County.

Smoke and flames could be seen for miles at one point.

Firefighters say workers were welding pipes together, when a spark turned into a flame.

We're told the fire burned most of the night. It destroyed three kilns where wood was being stored.

An insurance adjuster is expected to come to the sawmill Thursday to inspect the damages.

The loss to the company is expected to be well over $1 million.
