Rounds of showers and thunderstorms could cause issues across the region Saturday. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible.
It's an issue that has sharply divided people all across Lexington. City leaders are discussing the issue of expanded Sunday liquor sales Tuesday afternoon at city hall and hundreds of people have showed up to protest.
A group of local ministers rallied, protesting a proposal for extended Sunday alcohol sales in Lexington. If the proposal is approved alcohol sales would be allowed in bars and package stores.
Those leading the rally say changing Sunday sales would fuel more anti-family establishments in Lexington. Commerce Lexington says it supports the proposal because it could make the city more attractive to tourists, business owners, and those looking to relocate here.
The city could vote on the ordinance later this week.
