Wal-mart stores across the country are pulling flip-flops made in china after customers complained of rashes or burns developed on their feet.

A Texas woman says her feet started showing signs of a rash about three weeks after she started wearing the sandals in July.

As the scarring worsened into the exact pattern of the flip flop straps, she filed a complaint with Wal-mart.

Wal-mart says it will now do more testing on the flip flops.

To Karen in Vanceburg I too am having a problem with the elastic part of my bras. I have a very itchy rash and hives. Found your comment when searching for info about the china made flip flops that have done the same thing to my feet where the strap makes contact.

Ivy, take your daughter to a dermatologist and ask them specifically about chemical burns and fungal infections. I have read dozens of these reports, and most people are being treated with some sort of antifungal cream (think gynelotrimin) or prednisone cream. The length of time it takes to manifest leads me to believe it may be fungal rather than chemical. It seems almost necrotic in the pictures. Fungus has the ability to destroy healthy tissue. I would test a small spot with something like lotrimin and see if it improves.

Same thing happened to my 16 month old. I am seriously worried, she has not worn the shoes in over 2 weeks and her feet are still getting worse....If anyone knows anything else, please let me know. My daughter had the pink clog looking shoes with brown back straps and the holes cut into a bear face.
