Trick or treat hours will find temps dropping through the 30s with gusty winds and some rain and snow filling the air. Wraparound band of snow moves in Friday night into Saturday morning across central and eastern Kentucky. That's the one that could drop some light accumulations on grassy areas and elevated surfaces.
The Division of Waste Management will adjust LFUCG garbage, recycling and yard waste collection schedules for the Independence Day holiday. Residents whose normal collection day is Monday, July 5 will receive service on Wednesday, July 7, instead.
Residents who normally receive Monday pick-up should place their Herbies, Rosies and Lennies out Tuesday night, July 6, to assure collection on Wednesday, July 7.
In addition, the Haley Pike landfill on Hedger Lane will be closed on Monday, July 5. The city’s Material Recycling Facility (Recycling Center) on Thompson Road will also be closed; residents will not be able to drop off recyclables in the bins on Monday, July 5. All government offices will also be closed.
